Moisturisers

The step that decides how your skin feels for the rest of the day. A serum does the specialised work; a cream is what keeps the water in once it is done. The range runs from a light daily cream to rich butters and balms, and the right one is mostly a question of how dry you are and how much you dislike the feeling of something sitting on your face. Neither answer is better than the other.

Questions

Light cream or rich butter — how do I choose?

Go by how your skin feels three hours after washing it, not by what it looks like. Tight or flaky means rich. Shiny at the forehead and nose means light. Plenty of people want both and use the light one in the morning and the rich one at night, which is a sensible answer rather than an indecisive one.

Do I still need a moisturiser if I use a hydrating serum?

Usually yes. Most hydrating serums are water and humectants, which draw water into the skin and then let it leave again. The cream is the lid. In a humid summer you can sometimes skip it; in a Dutch winter with the heating on, you will feel the difference by the afternoon.

Where does it go in the routine?

Last, or second to last. Cleanse, then any watery steps, then serum, then cream. In the morning sunscreen goes on top of the cream. Anything thicker than the cream — a balm or an oil — goes after it, not before.

How much is delivery, and where do you ship?

Delivery is free on orders of €20 or more, and €4.95 below that. Downloads never carry a delivery charge. Orders typically arrive 5–9 working days after dispatch, to 20 countries including the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Can I return something from this collection?

Unopened items can be returned for 30 days, on top of the statutory 14-day EU right of withdrawal. For hygiene reasons we cannot take back anything opened and applied to skin.
