About the ingredient
Turmeric is the root of Curcuma longa, the same rhizome used in cooking, and the compound most often named on a label is curcumin. It has been applied to skin across South Asia for a very long time, and it survives in modern formulation because it does something modest reliably rather than something dramatic occasionally.
What it is reasonable to expect is skin that looks brighter and more even, and a complexion that reads as less tired. What it will not do is lighten your skin. That distinction matters to us and it is not a wording preference: products sold as skin lighteners are positioned around changing your natural colour, which is not what we sell and not what turmeric is for. Everything in this range is here for glow and evenness of appearance.
Two practical notes. Turmeric stains — pale towels, light bathrobes and grouting are all vulnerable, and a rinse-off product is easier to live with than a leave-on one if that worries you. And a genuine turmeric formulation is usually pale yellow to soft orange rather than vivid gold; an intensely coloured product is more likely carrying a colourant than a meaningful quantity of extract.
Questions
Will turmeric stain my skin or towels?
It can. Turmeric is a strong natural pigment, and rinse-off products are much easier to live with than leave-on ones on that score. If you use a leave-on turmeric product, give it a few minutes to absorb before it meets a pale pillowcase, and use a darker face cloth.
Does turmeric lighten skin?
No, and we do not sell it for that. Turmeric can make skin look brighter and more even — which is about how light reflects off a well-looked-after complexion, not about changing your natural colour. Products marketed as lighteners are a different category and one we deliberately do not stock.
Can I use turmeric every day?
Cleansers, soaps and body products, yes. Masks and scrubs, once or twice a week — used daily they strip more than they clear. If a product is leave-on and you are new to it, start a few times a week and build up.
Is turmeric suitable for sensitive skin?
Generally it is one of the gentler botanicals, which is part of why it has lasted. Patch test anyway: a little on your inner forearm for a couple of days before it goes near your face. That is worth doing with anything new, not only turmeric.
How much is delivery, and where do you ship?
Delivery is free on orders of €20 or more, and €4.95 below that. Downloads never carry a delivery charge. Orders typically arrive 5–9 working days after dispatch, to 20 countries including the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Can I return something from this collection?
Unopened items can be returned for 30 days, on top of the statutory 14-day EU right of withdrawal. For hygiene reasons we cannot take back anything opened and applied to skin.
